Xavireqon™ Folio Balance Cradle
Xavireqon™ Folio Balance Cradle
Give Every Page the Right Place.
The Xavireqon™ Folio Balance Cradle is a refined reading and display platform designed for substantial art books, family archives, collectible folios, exhibition catalogues, and other large-format books that are meant to be opened and appreciated rather than simply stored.
Large books are rarely balanced evenly when open.
One side may contain hundreds of pages while the other holds only a small portion. As the reader moves through the book, that balance changes again.
Folio Balance Cradle is designed around this movement, using independently adjustable left and right supports to accommodate changing page stacks while maintaining a composed reading position.
Instead of asking a valuable book to conform to one fixed cradle shape, the support system adapts to the book.
Considered Beneath Every Page.
A substantial book deserves more than an ordinary reading stand.
Folio Balance Cradle combines carefully proportioned support surfaces, soft padded contact areas, precision manual hardware, and a deep smoked-walnut finish to create a presentation environment suited to private libraries and collection spaces.
The supporting structure is intentionally understated.
Its purpose is to keep attention on the pages, photographs, illustrations, family records, or archival material being explored.
The result is part reading platform, part display furniture.
Fine-Tune Either Side.
The two sides of the cradle can be adjusted independently.
This allows the collector to compensate for differences in page-stack thickness as the book moves from one opening to another.
Instead of raising or lowering the entire platform as a single unit, each side can be refined according to the actual weight and thickness resting above it.
This independent adjustment is particularly useful for oversized books, heavily illustrated volumes, family histories, and collectible publications with substantial bindings.
A Considered Position for Every Page.
At the center of the system is the relationship between the book's open pages and its spine.
The left and right supports can be positioned independently while the central spine area remains appropriately accommodated.
This creates a more balanced presentation as the open book changes shape.
The goal is not to force the book into one predetermined position.
It is to create a platform that can respond to the way the book naturally opens.
Leave Room for the Binding.
Heavy books often place pressure around the center binding when resting on a conventional flat surface.
Folio Balance Cradle incorporates adjustable space between the supporting sides so there is no fixed ridge directly beneath the spine.
This allows the central binding area to sit with greater freedom while the left and right page blocks receive their own support.
For valuable or heavily bound volumes, that difference creates a more considered relationship between the book and the furniture beneath it.
Choose the Opening Angle.
The reading platform can also be positioned at a selected inclination.
Mechanical stops help define the chosen position, creating a repeatable viewing angle instead of requiring the collector to find the same angle manually every time.
A slightly raised position can make a large spread easier to observe from a seated position.
A more open presentation can create a stronger display when the book is being presented as part of a collection.
The platform adapts to the purpose of the moment.
Balance an Uneven Page Stack.
As pages are turned, the weight distribution of an open book changes continuously.
Folio Balance Cradle allows each side to be adjusted to compensate for that changing balance.
When the left page stack becomes heavier, the corresponding support can be refined.
As the reading position moves through the volume, the opposite side can be adjusted again.
This makes the cradle particularly suited to books that are actively explored rather than left permanently open to one spread.
Keep the Selected Page in View.
Repositionable retaining arms provide an additional way to keep a selected page area in place.
Broad, rounded contact fingers help establish the page position while remaining visually restrained.
This can be useful when examining a particular illustration, family photograph, catalogue spread, handwritten record, or reference page for an extended period.
The book remains open and composed while the collector focuses on the material itself.

Give the Book Room to Open.

It creates a considered relationship between page weight, spine clearance, opening angle, support, and presentation—allowing the platform to adapt as the book itself changes.
